Group Psychotherapy

Sometimes it can be helpful to get additional support from individuals who are dealing with or have previously experienced similar problems to you. Group psychotherapy is a counselling format that brings a small group of individuals with similar issues together to share, reflect on, and process their issues while learning and gaining validation from other members of the group. At UPWARD, psychotherapy groups are offered based on client interest. Once a client expresses a desire to participate in group therapy for a particular problem he/she is added to a waiting list. Once sufficient individuals (4 to 8) express similar interest, the client will be contacted to begin group treatment.

Online Group Counselling

Currently, UPWARD only offers online group counselling (via Zoom for Healthcare). Based on UPWARD’s five-year experience with online counselling, online sessions are typically just as effective as in-person counselling. To conduct online group counselling sessions successfully, the client will need to have access to a device with a microphone, camera, and stable internet connection as well as a space that ensures privacy during sessions. If you have the aforementioned at your disposal and believe that online group counselling can work for you, feel free to contact us via call, text, WhatsApp (preferable) or e-mail to schedule an appointment or get more information.
